John Shedd Designs, a long-time H&G customer, is the Hammill & Gillespie Customer of the Year for 2006. Since its origin in 1979, John Shedd Designs has resided in a 200 year-old converted gristmill in historic Rocky Hill, New Jersey. Adjacent to the Millstone River, the pottery is one of the few remaining in the Trenton area, an area rich in ceramic history dating from colonial times.

Inspired by that history and bringing to it his experience in modern studio ceramics, Johns’ work is recognized as being both classic in feeling and innovative in design. At John Shedd Designs each piece is created from porcelain clay and hand glazed with the artist’s eye for color, texture and composition. Crafted to a high standard, every piece is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.
